The SUNKKO T-688 84V is a battery pack discharge capacity tester with a separate single-cell operating mode. Its charging function applies to supported single cells; it is not an 84V battery-pack charger.

This distinction is important for workshops that test both loose cells and assembled batteries. Pack evaluation requires the appropriate pack mode and a functioning protective board. The instrument can help compare discharge performance, but the battery must first be prepared with a charger suitable for its chemistry and full-charge voltage.

The T-688 provides local digital readings and supports voltage, capacity and DC resistance evaluation. The documented pack mode permits discharge up to 5A, while single-cell testing offers 0.5A, 1A and 2A selections. Apply the current allowed by the actual voltage and thermal operating limits; the largest displayed setting is not a universal operating point.

Automatic charge-then-capacity testing belongs to the supported single-cell mode. It must not be described as an automatic high-voltage pack cycle. The separate USB output is a power-output function, not evidence of PC report export. For meaningful capacity comparisons, preserve the same battery preparation and discharge conditions, and distinguish the measured result from a prediction of runtime in a vehicle or inverter.

Order and verify the 84V variant explicitly because T-688 instruments are documented with different voltage ceilings. Check maximum charged pack voltage rather than relying on a nominal battery label. Do not substitute a lower-voltage version simply because the front panel appears similar.

For lithium pack testing, retain the correctly functioning BMS and follow the instrument's pack-mode instructions. A tester's generic cutoff is not a replacement for individual-cell protection. For single-cell charging, verify the chemistry-specific voltage profile separately. Confirm the test fixture, current-carrying leads and connector arrangement before incorporating the instrument into a workshop's standard procedure.

Record the exact instrument version, mode, current and battery preparation with the result. Stop the test for abnormal behaviour and investigate before repeating it. After a pack discharge, use its approved charger and storage procedure; do not attempt to use the T-688 cell-charging function to recharge the complete pack.
