SOLDER STICK

The SOLDER STICK is a soldering consumable in stick form for compatible electrical, cable and workshop joining operations. Buyers may search for solder stick, soldering stick for electrical work, battery cable solder, electrical solder rod or workshop soldering consumable when they need material for selected joints that are designed to be soldered rather than spot welded or mechanically crimped.

Soldering is used in battery-pack and EV workshops for certain wires, connectors, circuit boards and small electrical joints, but it should not be automatically substituted for resistance spot welding on cylindrical lithium cell terminals. Direct heating of lithium cells can damage seals and internal chemistry, so cell-to-cell interconnects are normally joined with an appropriate battery welding process where the design calls for it. The exact alloy, melting range and flux requirement of a solder stick determine where it is suitable, and those properties should be confirmed from the physical product specification before setting process temperatures.

A reliable solder joint depends on clean metal surfaces, correct heat input, compatible flux and sufficient wetting of the joint. Applying too little heat can create a weak cold joint, while prolonged heating can damage insulation, connector housings or nearby electronic components. In heavy battery cables, the conductor can draw heat away from the joint quickly, which makes tool capacity and joint design important. Mechanical support should not rely on solder alone where vibration or cable movement is expected.

For battery assembly, crimped terminals are often preferred for high-current power cables because a controlled crimp can provide strong mechanical retention without wicking solder into the flexible conductor. If a soldered connection is part of an approved design, keep the soldered zone away from repeated bending and provide strain relief.

Choose a solder stick by verified alloy, melting range, flux method, joint material, electrical application and the soldering equipment available. For electronics, confirm compatibility with PCB pads and components; for cables or terminals, verify that the base metals can be properly wetted and that the finished joint meets the mechanical requirement.

Applications

• Electrical connector and terminal repair where soldering is specified.

• Battery-pack workshop wiring and small electronic connections.

• BMS, charger and control-board service work.

• Cable preparation, prototype wiring and test fixtures.

• General electrical fabrication requiring compatible solder material.

Installation Guide

Disconnect all battery power before soldering. Keep hot tools and molten solder away from lithium cells, insulation films and flammable materials. Use suitable ventilation and follow the solder alloy and flux safety instructions. Protect adjacent conductors from accidental bridging and inspect the finished joint for full wetting without sharp solder projections. Allow the connection to cool before applying mechanical load or reconnecting power.

Why Choose ARB Accessories?

ARB Accessories focuses on lithium-battery, EV, energy-storage and battery-pack assembly components. The catalog brings together BMS boards, connectors, insulation materials, battery wiring, terminals, fuses, enclosures, testing equipment and assembly tools. For battery builders, repair workshops and OEM buyers, sourcing related components from one specialist catalog can make specification matching and procurement easier. Final suitability should still be checked against the exact battery design, equipment model and electrical requirements before installation.
