Use the correct contact for the selected wire gauge and the recommended crimp tooling where applicable. Strip only enough insulation for the contact barrel and avoid cutting conductor strands. After crimping, perform a pull check and inspect that the contact locks fully into the housing. Mark positive and negative conductors clearly, verify polarity with a meter before mating, and secure the cable so vibration does not transfer directly to the contact.
