The SB175 Connector Set is a high-current two-pole DC power connector system commonly used for battery packs, electric vehicles, chargers, industrial equipment and removable power modules. The SB175 size class is widely associated with 175A-type battery connectors and a robust genderless housing design: matching housings of the same compatible color/keying mate with each other rather than using a conventional separate male and female body.

High-current connectors depend on more than the housing name. The cable size, contact barrel, crimp quality, contact plating, mating pressure and ambient temperature all affect resistance and heat rise. A connector labeled 175A should be used only with contacts and conductors appropriate to the real system current. Poor crimping can create a high-resistance joint that heats under load even when the connector housing itself is correctly sized.

Installation Guide

Strip cable to the contact manufacturer's recommended length without cutting conductor strands. Use the correct crimp die for the contact barrel and wire size; hammer crimping or an undersized tool can produce unreliable joints. After crimping, perform a firm pull test and insert each contact fully into the housing until it locks. Keep both contacts at the same depth and verify polarity before mating the connectors. During commissioning, check for abnormal heating under sustained load. Replace housings or contacts that are cracked, badly pitted, loose or heat-discolored.
