Confirm battery polarity before connecting the board. Keep soldering time short on battery terminals and use pre-attached nickel where available to reduce direct heat on the cell. Insulate the PCB and nickel connections from the cell can where necessary. After assembly, test the pack with a controlled load and compatible charger. Verify that the board does not become excessively hot at the intended current. If the cell voltage is abnormally low or unstable, diagnose the cell rather than repeatedly resetting the protection board.
