Technical Performance & Engineering Details

The module belongs to the 5A balancing-current class. Equalization moves energy within the battery rather than routing the main load through the balancing leads. The 5A rating therefore must not be used as a charge or discharge rating for the pack. Actual balancing performance depends on the board's operating conditions and the difference between cell groups. Improving charge alignment can reduce early cut-offs caused by imbalance, while a degraded cell still needs separate diagnosis.

In a 4S pack, the balancer connects across 4 successive cell groups. Each group may contain parallel cells, but the series count stays 4. Choose the balancer by this series layout, not by the total number of individual cells. Select by the exact B04S001 model, battery chemistry, operating voltage and matching harness. Use a suitable protection BMS and charger with the completed assembly. A balancer cannot substitute for the switches and sensing used to disconnect an unsafe charge or discharge condition.

Installation Guide

Refer to the diagram for the supplied JBD board and attach sampling leads in the specified order with the connector unplugged. Measure each adjacent connection before applying power. Mount the board away from conductive surfaces and protect the leads against strain. During commissioning, compare the measured group voltages and inspect the connections before putting the pack into service.
