Verify the four cell-group voltages before connecting the balancer. Install the sampling wires in the correct sequence and protect all connections from accidental short circuit. Mount the board where it has electrical insulation and reasonable airflow. During first operation, monitor cell voltages and board temperature rather than leaving the pack unattended. If one cell repeatedly drifts far from the others after balancing, investigate cell capacity, resistance and pack connection quality instead of relying on the balancer to mask a failing cell.
