DK DT5050 5V 50A Cell Charge-Discharge Tester

The DK DT5050 is a 5V 50A-class cell charge-discharge tester for evaluating suitably rated rechargeable cells. It is a cell-level system; its current capability must not be mistaken for permission to connect a complete high-voltage battery pack to one channel.

For larger cells, an appropriate higher-current test can support capacity evaluation under a relevant load. The measurement is useful only when the cell limits, connection arrangement and test procedure are defined together. Good records should explain the test conditions as clearly as they show the final capacity number.

The documented DT5050-8 configuration provides eight isolated channels with charge and discharge current up to 50A per channel. The platform supports capacity testing, cycling, grading, resistance evaluation and balance maintenance, with LAN-based software operation for recorded results and curves.

At higher current, the measurement setup deserves close attention. Current-carrying contacts must remain stable and suitably rated throughout the test; thin BMS sensing wires are not substitutes for the required test-current path. Separate the purpose of balancing from capacity grading. Bringing cells to a similar charge condition does not establish equal capacity or repair physical degradation, so review the full evidence before returning a cell to service.

Confirm the supplied channel count and DT5050 revision because catalogue names and cabinet configurations can differ. Match the cell's chemistry, voltage limits and continuous-current allowance to the proposed test. Do not use the 50A setting automatically simply because it is available.

Specify fixtures around actual terminal geometry, cell support and the required current. Include the computer, network and reporting arrangement in the equipment plan. For engineering comparisons, keep the charge preparation, rest periods and discharge rate consistent. For maintenance on cells associated with an assembled battery, use only a qualified and documented isolation procedure appropriate to the complete battery system.

Inspect terminal and connector heating and confirm that records correspond to the correct channel. Review the first completed curve rather than relying only on the displayed capacity. Stop for abnormal cell behaviour or unstable contact.
