The DK DSF20 is a battery pack capacity tester with controlled charging, discharging and automatic cycling. Its documented 9-99V range supports appropriately matched lithium and lead-acid batteries, with separate charge and discharge current limits.

For a battery assembler, the useful output is a record showing how an identified pack performs under a defined procedure. The DSF20 can support this workflow through local operation or computer-based testing. Consistent test conditions make it easier to compare production samples, investigate returned batteries and review changes between successive cycles.

Charging current is adjustable up to 10A. Discharge reaches 20A in the documented higher-voltage range, while 9-21V operation is limited to 10A. Select the actual operating point from the manufacturer's voltage-dependent limits instead of treating 20A as available under every condition.

Constant-current/constant-voltage charging and constant-current discharge can be combined into repeatable sequences. Computer operation provides test curves and Excel reporting over a LAN connection. The report should retain the battery identity, procedure version and relevant stop condition. A test that ends because a protection device operates needs different interpretation from one that reaches the planned endpoint normally. Neither outcome should be relabelled simply to produce an acceptable capacity value.

Verify the battery's fully charged voltage and permitted discharge endpoint against the tester range. A nominal battery rating alone does not establish compatibility. Check the allowed charge current, continuous discharge current and BMS behaviour, including any temperature-related restrictions.

Decide whether the station will use panel control or the supported computer software, and arrange the required network connection before installation. Specify fixtures and leads for the actual pack terminals. Where several instruments share one computer, keep equipment identifiers and battery records unambiguous. A pack-level capacity result does not replace cell-level inspection, assembly checks or the other validation required by the finished product.

Installation Guide

Provide the specified mains supply, protective earth and ventilation, with the battery secured on a suitable work surface. Inspect the current leads and separate sensing connections before commissioning. Confirm polarity, the approved test procedure and the correct software channel or instrument selection.

Begin with a reference pack and verify the charge, rest and discharge behaviour before releasing production work. Compare the displayed voltage with the intended connection point and inspect connectors for heating under load. Check that exported reports retain the correct pack identity. Stop for unexpected battery behaviour, damaged insulation or unstable contact. Keep calibration and lead inspection in the maintenance schedule, and retain interrupted records rather than silently replacing them.
